How to have a little boy or girl!

Just posting this out for everyone.....here's what I learned in biology....granted I'm sure it's not foolproof, but there is a way to have a girl or boy when trying to conceive.

First of all the planets need to be in alignment...otherwise you need to know your cycle, timing, etc.   Here's your best chance for conceiving a girl....at least it improves your odds.    Your cycle needs to be regular and you need to have an idea when you ovulate.  For example a regular cycle is 28 days and you ovulate on the 14th day.

Based on that you need to know that sperm lives for up to 96 hours in the uterus when there are fertile conditions.  Those are the girl sperms.  The boy sperms live for 48 hours or so.  Other things to know...girls sperm swim slower but they live longer, boy sperm swim faster but live shorter.   So the trick is to have intercourse on CD 10 and CD 11 of your cycle or 3 to 4 days before you expect to ovulate. Do not have intercourse on CD 12, 13 or 14!

Hence come the time you ovulate all the boy sperms will have died out and there will be just girl sperm remaining......this is theorhetically the trick.

If you want a boy, you need to have sex closer to the time of ovulation or day of ovulation -- then the boys race to the top and get there first before any girls make it up there. It also to helps to have an orgasm as this makes the uterus contract and gives them a boost.

So if you know your cycle and more or less when you expect to "O" then you have a better chance of getting boy or girl.   Very simple biology....I've seen this work before!

Remember that sperm only lives for up to 5 days... so you can only be sure which little guys actually won the race if you have sex with greater than 5 days in between bedding. Like if you tend to bed every other day while trying,(which most couples do) then it is a 50-50 chance, but if you only bed once a week and are absolutely sure on the exact day you O'd then you can determine which ones likely won. It is definitely a game of timing.

I have heard of this methode and tried it before, I have 3 boys, lol. This last time around I ovulated on thanksgiving and BD that night and now we are having a girl:) So yes I think the therory that boy sperm are faster and girl sperm are slower may be right, I guess it also depends on the sperm, my little girl beat all the boys to the finish line (finally) LOL:)

The Chinese calendar told me I was having a boy. My daughter would strongly disagree!

Also once ur pregnant you can use a Chinese Calendar to see what ur having. I think it has about an 80% accuracy rate. My Aunt swears by it.

It would definitely be interesting to know if you end up with a girl!....my girlfriend got both her girls this way.   there's books out there written about it.  Of course it's not 100% fail proof, but in theory that's the way it's suppose to work

Hmm, interesting.  I had no idea there was an actual science behind this.  With this baby, based on what ultrasound is showing and counting backwards, I probably ovulated on the friday or saturday.  DH and I bd'ed the tuesday and wedensday only.  So chances are I am having a girl then....I don't really care which, but I do think all the little girl clothes are cute!!  I actually have a strong feeling I am having a girl.  And my understanding is that the heartbeat at 9 weeks was on the high side of normal, and some think that is an indicator of a girl.  Will be interesting to see what happens...
