STD Tests completed

First off, if this is Dr. Edward W. Hook, I wanted to thank you for your medical expertise on my previous questions. It helped me to build of the courage I needed to go and see a doctor for piece of mind so I can once and for all put this behind me.  Refresher = Im 26 yr. old male, received unprotected oral sex from unknown female in Feb. 2009. I went to doctor. Dr. looked at what I believed to be Fordyce spots, and told me in their opinion it was normal, and not warts (even though they hadn’t heard of Fordyce spots). I gave a blood and urine sample. Test results should be back next week. I was tested for Herpes, Clamidya, Syphliss, HIV/AIDS and Gonnoria. My questions are:
1.) While filling out the health questionere before hand, it asked if I smoked and I said no. I chew tobacco but it didn’t mention that. Would nicotine in my system in any way alter these STD tests that I took. I forgot to tell them I chewed tobacco.
2.) I have a urine sample and they asked if I urinated within the last hour and I said no. Looking back, I did urinate before I left the house to the testing place approx. 50 to 55 minutes before I urinated for this test. Would that close of a time frame of 5 to 10 minutes effect the tests?

Thanks again for everything.

You got me again.  I have reviewed your other, past posts both on this forum and on the STD Community site.  The advice you have been given is correct.  Starting with the last question, that is was 55 minutes will not have a negative effect on the outcome of your tests.  The concerns about urination within an hour of testing related primarily to swab specimens that are looked at under the microscope and even for them the hour time recommendation is an approximation.  Your urine tests will be completely reliable.

As for the chewing, the nicotine in your system will not modify your test results.  Your tests will still be reliable.  On the other hand, I would not be fulfilling my responsibility to you if I did not mention to you that chewing tobacco is associated with increased risk for cancer of the mouth, tongue and gums.  If you could stop it would be in your best interest.

Hope this helps. I predict your tests will, once again be negative.  At that time I urge you to accept the results as accurate and move  forward from your concerns about your past exposure.  EWH
