herpes, hiv, what?

7yrs ago I had unprotected sex(5 times) with a guy who got around a lot. After that I got this itching in my vagina, a bad discharge, and some odor.I would itch it like crazy. At some point in time I noticed a small round blister like thing beside the opening to my vagina.I don't know if it was from scratching so hard or what.About 6 months later I got with a guy, used a condom the first few times and then quit.He coplained to me one day that it burned when he peed.I finnaly went and the doctor said I had a bacterial infection.I haven't had any problems since.I have been with the same guy for six years. On February 1st of this year I had vaginal sex with a guy I hardly knew.He pulled out everytime. We had sex on the 1, 15, and 17 of February. About two weeks after my boyfriend and I got sick from the flu that was going around. He was worse the doctor said he almost had pnemonia (pneumonia).About 7 weeks after this my butt-hole started to feel funny and itch.It felt like I didn't clean myself well after I pooped.About 9 weeks after I had sex with my new partner for the first time I got an hiv test and it was negative.Within the month of April, my boyfriend has gotten a sore throat/cold, due to the windows being open at night when he sleeps I think. Two weeks later he got a sore throat and nothing else.It has lasted for 3 days.He also sweats at night really bad when it is semi-hot.He sweats easily sometimes because he is a little overweight.I have noticed this before in the past years.  Also this morning he showed me this the dry skin/scab looking thing on his penis that was split down the middle horizontally.  He said he just recently noticed it.  Also around the time of my anal itching I noticed him itching his balls more.  I have had the anal itching and discomfort non-stop for over a month.
1.  What do you think is wrong and what should I do?
2.  Do you think I have hiv?
3.  Do you think I have herpes and if so could I have had it this long(7 years) and not realized it?
4.  Why do I have chronic anal itching?
5.  Should I go get another hiv test and when?

Your various symptoms and partnerships are too complex for me to say very much.  Clearly you need to see a health care provider who knows about herpes and other STDs, then follow that person's advice.  Nobody in your situation should rely on online advice from me or anyone else; it can only be guesswork.

1, 3) Many your symptoms (but not all of them) are consistent with herpes.  People can have herpes their whole lives and not know it.

2, 5) You give no information that sounds like you have HIV.  Assuming you have been having sex only with men, and neither you nor they also shoot drugs (and if nobody is from a country where AIDS is expecially common), then almost certainly you don't have HIV.  But don't just worry about it:  get tested if you are nervous.

4) Anal itching is extremely common, and everybody has it sometimes.  There are many causes, most of them not serious.

Your health care provider should be able to figure all this out pretty easily.  If you don't have a regular provider, try a local family planning clinic, like Planned Parenthood; or your local health department STD clinic.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
