H1N1 with no sore throat ?

by mommy2girl, Oct 16, 2009 08:48PM
My 5 year old daughter suddenly developed a headache, fever for 3 days - which reached up to 102 went away for a day, and came back one more day at 99.  She also had a cough which started dry, and over a period of 4 days - became productive.  She had NO appetite for 6 days - and finally today she got it back. She was very tired and napped allot. She also has a stuffy/runny nose. We were told by a doctor that it sounded like she had the H1N1 flu.  However, she said she did not have a sore throat, and I am not sure how achey (achy) she was.  Is it possible to have that flu and not get the sore throat ?

From what I understand you can have just a fever and a cough, or fever and body aches and test positive for H1N1.  On the CDC website it says you may have just one symptom and have H1N1.
