Low TSH and Low F T4

Hello, I am hoping you can help...............................

I have been dealing with Thyroid issues since 4/08. I swing from being Hypo and Hyper.

I've been on synthyroid at varing doses for 18 months and the thyroid is not regulated yet!!!

I have never had a Low and a Low before.

Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks so much!!

I am losing my mind, I'm tired of being tired!!!

I am on 137 mcg of Synthyroid....I have 2 nodules that are measuring 1.5 cm

What is the basis for your doctor changing your meds?  Is it based on TSH only?

If you will post your test results and reference ranges for the last 3 or 4 tests, members can help interpret results and see if it looks like you are getting the proper testing and treatment. If you don't have the info, doctors are required to provide copies upon your request.   Also, what symptoms do you have now?

What are your TSH and FT4 levels?

Have you been tested for Hashimoto's? The blood tests TGab and TPOab. Hashis swing back from hypo to hyper as our nodules leak thyroid hormone.

Free levels usually lag behind our TSH levels, so they might not have caught up to the TSH levels yet.

Why isn't the doc testing and treating FT3 levels? You may have low FT3 levels and a drug like Cytomel could help. Unfortunately, some endos don't treat the threes, and so many hypos do not get complete treatment.

Have the nodules shrunk any since starting the Synthroid?
