Abnormal EKG. . .normal for me?

Last night, I went to the ER.
I was feeling shaky, weak, racing heart & tingly.
I had just had a total thyroidectomy on 8/4 and had some calcium issues.
I thought I was having another low calcium attack.
The doctor ran some blood work and did an EKG.  He said that his diagnosis was stress and anxiety and gave me an ativan.
The EKG showed that there were abnormalities, but the doctor said that the abnormalities were normal for me (how would he know that? I hadn't had an ekg done there before) and that it was nothing to worry about.
Of course I'm freaking out.  Here's what the report says:

thanks for the luck!
i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing.

Had to go back in to office and start working so not as faithful as i use to be. :( i started checking up on friends and saw that you had gone to hospital. hope everything is ok. did you call cardiologist? I have to get into a routine again. I use to be able to check forum form home (while working shhhhh, don't tell), but now have to do it when all the chores have been done for the day.

good luck

GW (Kim)

How are you feeling now?  Do you have a regular doctor?  Sometimes you need a referral to get into a cardio doctor.  Make sure to take your copies just in case they don't get faxed over.  Do you have your extra blood work to show your cTnI levels if there was any rise or not?  Just curious.  Take any questions you have with you.  Cardio doctors like to talk in big words and can really throw off your train of thought.  LOL  Sometimes I think they do it just to see if they can get a rise out of you.   Urgg.

Don't be alarmed if they have you do another EKG there and schedule an echo/stress test.  Echocardiograms to me I think is the best way to truly know what's going on in the heart.  Let us know how you are doing.

Best of wishes to you.....By the way if you had reason enough to go to the ER then by George ask away.  Please take care and try not to get to stressed though.  It will make symptoms worse if it is heart related.  Again keep us posted on how your doing.....Amy

thanks!
i showed the ekg to my endo yesterday, and he said that he really didn't have enough experience reading them to give me a solid answer.  He said I was probably fine, but did give me the name of a cardiologist, so I guess I'll call him on Monday.

Now, how to stop obsessing over it?

Hi.  Sorry your not feeling well.  Your calcium level is ok.  The only thing I would ask your regular doctor about (on labs) is your WBC.  It is running a little high.  I think normal is below 10.
Your sugar is slightly elevated.  Your TROPONIN I (cTnI) is low which is great!  This is what they use to check for heart damage.  It will rise if you have damage done to your heart.  I think your ANION GAP level is ok too.  I think 16-20 is where they start to look.  Hopefully someone on the heart forum can give you a better answer than I.

Did the ativan help?  What does your HR usually run?  Do you take BP med's?

As far as the EKG goes it's hard to tell without looking at them.  Mine have always sounded horrible.   I've been told not to worry about them that it is normal for me.  They are more of a guideline; but, are notoriously wrong.  I would make a copy though and next time you go to the doctors ask him or her about it.  I hope you are feeling better today.  Take care;  Amy

Id like to know that too. Did you ask him how he knew this.  Are you feeling better today?  I hope you do.  How do you get those results? My dr. never gives me copies.
