You endo sounds *exactly* like the one I fired! Everyone in my family had cancer or precancer and all this endo wanted to do is yell at me for encouraging my family members to get their cancer removed and he wanted to scream at me for being "overweight". Yeah - I had my thyroid removed and needed to be put on meds - I had gained 10lbs in just a few months. I needed meds not just screaming and a diet plan!
That's why he's my FORMER endo.
I found a great one but it took quite a bit of work to find one who would treat ME (not my labs) and was as aggressive as I wanted.
Fire that jerk and find a good one. They are out there.
Actually Fat holds onto estrogen and too much estrogen can distort your thyroid hormones. I posted on it earlier.
You should try to lose weight--it will help.
Will try to find that post and paste here.
oh i am very pissed off.i went to this endo when i had my tumor.he was very nice to me & was concerned .so when i got this appt i was so happy.i thought he was going to help me.i thought my hell was over.i can pay anyone $200 to tell me im obesie.i tryed to get him to think about my labs but he just talked about how fat i am.and as far as my breast leaking he told me to GET OVER IT.its not alot but it makes me feel prg.without a baby to show.i went threw this with my brain tumor [piuitary].it had to get into my optic nerve before they took it seriously.losing faith in all doctors.why do the look at me and think im lying?this is tearing my marriage apart.my hubsand has been threw so much with my health problems.once again drs make me look and feel crazy.
Welcome to my world. Don't think you'll like it here much, though. Seems every time I walk into a new dr their first thing is to recommend gastric bypass. Guarantee you 150 is no where near obese, honey.
No asking to find out that I gained all this weight in a year of running a TSH of 36-56 or that I have PCOS or any of the other problems that keep my too exhausted to hardly move much less eat. They don't believe that either. They look at me and think I'm a pig when I honestly don't hardly eat. Almost never have an appetite and never one big enough to go to the trouble to fix myself something to eat.
Think the next one who tells me that I'm going to walk over and sit on him until they decide to fix me and make me feel good enough to be able to clean my house and enjoy my son.
Hang in there, get angry and not sad, then get even!!! LOL
Sounds like the Endo that I just stopped seeing. I have an appt with a new Endo this Friday 02/01. My old endo keeps telling me the same thing. I'm 34, 5'8 and 201.5 pounds. I know that I should loose weight, but it's hard to with all these symptoms.I'm not crazy nor manic depressant but they keep telling me that I have symtoms of depression. I know my own body and something is wrong so I kept telling her. I'm going to this new endo to see if I have subclinical hypothyroidism. My most recent TSH last July was 2.8. I know that's norm, but why do I have all of these symtoms: AND for years I might add:
Fatigue & weakness
Weight gain Depression/ Irritablity/ anxiety-worse
Light periods Memory fog, harder to think, learn Constipation-when not taking metformin
Intolerance to cold, hands/feet cold
Poor concentration
Muscle aches, joints achy Puffy face
Facial hair Itchy skin-recent
Seems like I get a cold a lot Low sex drive-getting worse
Feeling of being Hoarseness-new this yr
“tired, slow and rundown Wrist pain, finger, foot pain-spasms
Heart rhythms feel off Diff loosing weight
Lymph nodes seem to be swollen a lot-neck
Pressure and ringing of ears at times
Good luck to add, wish me luck on Friday.
Absolutely - he sounds like a dip s&!+ Maybe he has a relationship with my first endo I saw 5 years ago!! Don't let that so-called doc tear you apart. It's obvious you are hypo.
DOn't sit there a cry - get healthly!! Go see your doctor who recommended this endo and ask (NO TELL) him you are very dis satisfied with this endo's conduct on YOUR health. Most here know why this topic really gets to me.
Demand a new doctor, if he can not accomadate get on the website (google search) Thyroid Disease Top Doctors Directory. It lists all top doctors practicing near you - if one is still to far from you call the nearest one and ask for a reference of a doctor near you. Most are really willing to help.
Don't settle if you feel bad. Good Luck
