Yep! I too had started a sinus infection just before surgery, 6 days post op I still am fighting either cold now or allergies or sinus stuff? I dont know, honmestly I think with all the stress and worring about the surgery and out thryoid seems to do something to our immune system! take lots of vit C!!! :) Healthy thoughts sent your way {!}.... :)
Kelly~
Oh my, how could I forget to tell you about my 2 Root Canals 6 weeks prior to surgery. Yep, Abcessed back to back but now doing great!
C~
Yes, I had a sinus infection going into surgery but it opened up post-op Day #2 from head being hung upside down most likely during surgery LOL but I did have an awful PND going into the surgery and revealed it to the anestesthiologist bcz it was discolored and imp. he knew for the airways.
About a week before my surgery I had beginnings of what I thought was a kidney infection (pain, tired, etc.) and it went away after 2 days only to find out 12 days post-op I PASSED A KIDNEY STONE!!!!!!! I gave birth to my first stone and now I await the lab report to find its consistency (calcium oxalate vs. uric acid, etc.)
On top of that about 2 weeks prior to surgery I had a gallstone attack that subsided.
I think that {{{{{{{{{{{[ stress }}}}}}}}}}}}}] both phys. and emotional plays a major role. This is a big thing to cope with (upcoming surgery) and before and after we catch stuff.

I did too and I cought everything that came by after surgery when I started back to work.I endedup taking a can of lysol spray so I wouldnt catch anything. The guys at work would come in with all kinds of germss.I quit getting sick after I started spraying the lysol around. The guys made fun of me but I didnt care lol.
Love Venora
For me I figured it was BOTH! :-)
Get feeling better!
Thanks :) Yes have had the sinus infections too, just wasnt sure if its because my immune system was down or just plain unlucky?
No kidney infections but I had bronchitis/sinus infections about every three weeks prior to my second surgery and before (and during) my RAI. It's no fun when your immune system is so compromise.
Sending healthy, good wishes your way!!
