I wear Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel insoles and they are like a cloud, and I have slight spine curvature and flat feet. They've lasted me about 1/2 to 1 year. I'm now due to replace them and I'm definitely getting another of this same kind, $14 at my grocer. I really recommend them!

Those computerized insoles sound very interesting. Not quite in my budget though, but if I was having a lot of pain, though I do tend to have some, I'd consider them or orthopedic insoles.
I'll be putting a water bottle in the freezer.. I can already feel the relief!
Funny, I just ran to the store or should I say limped because I wanted to wear my Pretty" shoes/sandals. My Dr Scholls wouldn't fit and without them inserts I was walking like a 90 year old woman in no time.
Gives new meaning to Don't Leave Home without them! OUCH! Lol!
"cheaper Dr. Scholl's"
- yea, thats what I meant, there are other brands of cheaper floppy, too soft insoles, and as you found out, dont do much. Get what you pay for as we all find out.
I have some spendy custom orthodics from a chiro, I'll check out the Dr Scholls mapped fit ones for an extra and different pair. The newest wallmart by be doesnt have it - funny. One in the next town is listed.
Another tip for inflamed bottom of feet: freeze a plastic water bottle and roll the arch of your foot on it for ten min sitting on a chair / sofa ect. at night. Will feel better the next morning.
I'm not familiar with the ones hanging on the racks other then I did try the cheaper Dr. Scholl's which helped a bit but NOTHING like the Computerized Mapping ones.
I'm sure that link you added will help anyone trying to find them in their area.
Never thought about the rubber ball but I have been using a small glass bottle. Hubby has a rubber ball he brought home from therapy.. hmmm, I'm thinking that may work even better!
Thanks! Every little bits helps
Thanks!
By the way, do these offer stiffer support (like the real thing) as opposed to those softer orthodics hanging on the rack?
I heard about this. Not all wallmarts have this foot mapping machine, but I found this part of Dr Scholls web site will locate the nearest for you by zip code.

Good shoes stores (not the chains) have a rubber ball the size of a golf ball called Bubz. You roll it under tight foot muscles rather hard till you feel them relax.
Tight Calf muscles also contribute to Plantar Fasciitis, muscles can and will pull on each other as well as the tendons that atatch to them. Stretching the Gastrocnemius (gastroc for short) and soleus muscles (of the calf) while against a wall can help - can goggle this. It can takes months to finally keep the muscles from tightening again.
Thanks! I'll check out the Gold Bond to.. anything to help my feet heal. I know the foot stretches really help also.
I'm gonna have to check out my wal mart. Also my mother in law deals with a lot of foot pain and she likes that stuff...I think it's gold bond for foot pain lotion. I'll have to check that out too. I'll give you a better idea of the name. LOL
