Please post your actual lab results with reference ranges (they vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report). We can take a look at the tests your doctor has ordered and see if he's doing a good job in that respect.
You are hypo at the moment if your FT4 is slightly below range, but keep in mind that that is only because you are overmedicated. If you stop taking the meds, your levels would likely go back to pre-meds levels relatively quickly. Methimazole only works while you are taking it and for as long after as it takes to get out of your system completely.
So, your doctor is doing the right thing. He wants to let your levels come up a little, which will happen on the reduced dose, but he doesn't want you to go hyper again. Going from 30 mg to 10 mg will make you less hypo.
It takes time to find the correct dose. A few meds adjustments at the beginning isn't unusual, and depending on the stability of your condition, could continue. In another month, you may find you still need to tweak your dose a little.
That's just the way it is. Just be cautious of Titus medication because many of the time, your dr. might not tell you lot of information. Be careful with methimazole, it can mess your liver and your life up.
yes this is common, your dr is trying to control your hyper with the meds, they may need adjusted frequently, i have graves and my meds were adjusted every visit, some times i would become hypo then have meds adjusted again and again, 50mg , 25,10,15 and now finally rai up and down hope this helps
