I was lucky and had really thick hair and lots of it to start with! I could do two plaits (braids) one on each side of my head, with a hair elastic tied only twice round. Now I can do one with SEVEN turns of the elastic! So, some people think I look ok, but those who know me previously can see the difference.
As far as I can tell it has not grown back. If anything it is still falling out easily. BUT I stress, I do have alot of health issues going on.
My hair started to fall out around my first surgery May 2007. Partial thyroidectomy. Got worse after the total in Dec 2007.
I am on 62.5 mcg for almost two months now (I've been on 50 mcg for 5 months), my lab results are good, tsh 1.03, FT3 and FT4 in the upper middle range and my hair is still falling out by the handfuls :(.
Doc started me on Synthroid 50 and within six weeks, it had grown a few inches. My beautician was shocked. Just a few months earlier, and she had to layer it to hide my hair loss.
