Help needed urgently

I am worried my TSH is too low for the RAI to work properly, i have read that the TSH needs to be at least 30 for it to take up the RAI.
I am scheduled for the RAI tomorrow?
my blood results as of Thursday

TSH 4.34  (0.30 - 5.0)

Does anyone know if this is too low or if here in the UK the ranges etc are set down differently?

It usually is a little higher here in the US. but you are having the round again for cancer. That I am not sure of - but I know with cancer - if you TSH is higher than a 1.0 - then that is not good.

Is this your first RAI treatment?  Have they taken you off your meds, and if so, when?  I had my first RAI 6 weeks after my TT for thyca, and was told that the TSH needed to be 40 or higher.  With no meds after TT, my TSH was 145....obviously high enough!  For my scan the following year, I was given thyrogen shots two days before the scan (1 each day) to "trick" my body into being hypo for the scan.

I had my RAI done when it was 0.50 but I have Graves and NOTHING would bring it higher.
Basically emergency RAI.
But this was my first time and I was hypo 5 weeks later.
If it is your 2nd time...I'd imagine they will give you a higher dose so the higher the TSH the better because of hyper symptoms from the RAI.
Normally with a history of Cancer they want that TSH pretty high.

Just make sure you have the beta blockers ready , the lemon sour drops (or lemon slices) and plenty of water.

You dont say how long ago they took you off meds?
Usually if they cant get the TSH up, they give you anti-thyroid meds BEFORE RAI.
Have you been given these?
