What are your actual FT3 and FT4 levels, with ranges?
Not tingling. just pain in the joints.. Like my ankles hurt and feel week to walk on.
Yeah, I am trying to get back into working out but my energy level is so low..
"Barb, my tsh was .5 and t4. three was above mid range." I really only work well with numbers and ranges (lol), so if you could post those, it would be helpful.
If you have hurting (tingling?) and burning in extremities, I'd strongly suggest that you get vitamin B12 levels tested, since those are typical symptoms of untreated Pernicious Anemia, which is another autoimmune disease, but can be easily controlled, with vitamin B12 supplements. There seems to be some controversy as to which delivery system works best...... I, personally, have to inject weekly, in order to keep my levels high enough.
Osteo arthritis will not always show up on tests, but it tends to hit most of us as we age. Stiffness in hands, fingers, feet, hips and other joints after you've sat in one place for some time, or slept through the night, because you aren't moving those body parts. While it often hurts to exercise, that's often the best remedy. But of course, you'd need to check with your doctor to make sure.
Thanks Lazy Moose, yea trigger point helps my muscles alot! The biggest issue right now are my wirsts, fingers, ankles, toes, they hurt and burn and joints get stiff and so on. Just like arthritis but not positive test...
Barb, my tsh was .5 and t4. three was above mid range.
Please post your most recent thyroid related blood tests, and their reference ranges. Some of us with muscle/joint pain find that we simply need to increase our dosage.
If you have Hashimoto's (which causes thyroid inflammation), you will need to increase your medication, as the antibodies destroy healthy thyroid tissue.
It's true that supplementing with magnesium can help relieve the pain; I find that adding calcium helps. Exercise also helps, even though it's hard, when we're in pain.
High acidity in blood in most is primarily from red meat and sugars. In a nut shell high, PH blood cells become sticky and thick, thus cannot deliver oxygen ect, like they should - (kind of how heart disease starts, since the heart is muscle).
I wrote a post on Hashimoto muscle pain, I bumped it up last week, some pages away by now. Some pointers in it.
T3/T4 combo and magnessium glycinate helps me. When I was on T4, the pain was miserable - regardless how high my FT4 was, all my tendons were tight and crunchy. I am still looking for improvement.
ART (active release technique) helped a lot. Some chiros offer this. Its kind of like trigger point release. You shorten a muscle or tendon in its relaxed (short position) by ''anchoring" with a high pressure thumb or golf ball on the floor, then moving the muscle/tendon to its elongated position and hold for 5-10 seconds. You will feel it burn and after about five tries, it should release. Then nutrients can get into the fiber and healing begins. Works on all soft tissue.
When was the last time you had your thyroid levels tested?
I know i get the muscle/bone pains when I am off on the dosage. I think we got that when we are hyper/hypo.
