that very well could be why you aren't doing well.....never do generic. My endo won't prescribe generic and he says a lot of it comes from over seas. He said it is a very low percentage of people who do well on generic.
No...I do not have any adverse affects from Cytomel.
Do you have anxiety/insomnia from Cytomel? I switched to generic a few months ago, could that be it???
so I got my new results in today and they are:
Free T3 264 (230-420)
Free T4 1.41 (no ref)
TSH 0.60 (.32-5)
I am on 150 Synthroid and 5 of Cytomel. I dropped a Cytomel because it made me feel anxious and had horrible insomnia. I had iron tests run too because I was anemic 6 months ago and they took me off iron 2 months ago. They are:
Iron 71 (50-220)
Saturation % 5 L (15-55)
TIBC 1440 H (250-400)
It looks like that I am still anemic so I will ask my doc about that. Guess I am gonna try the desiccated thyroid. Not having good results with this combo. What about testing reverse T3? I have never had this done?
I need help. I feel horrible. My hair is so dry and brittle and ny eyebrows are almost non exsistent....if anyone had any feedback that would be great!!!
Hi,
I take a mix of ERFA and thyroxine. i take 125 mcg of ERFA and 50 mcg of thyroxine. My numbers are perfect (FT3/FT4). In my experience, it can work quite well. No harm in giving it a try.
No i dose myself twice a day for my Cytomel. But I have spoken to my Dr about having it compounded into time release. Just haven't done it yet due to the cost. I take 20 mcg daily of cytomel so my monthly cost for my meds including the synthroid is $130/mo.
Eventually when I know for sure that my thyroid has completely lost all function, then maybe I will have the cytomel put into time release.
For you, it might be worth a try so you dont have any ups and downs, and maybe less anxiety.
:)
I have been on it for 7 months. I also do break up twice a day. So, what do you do?
Do you have pharmacy compound T3 and T4??
How long have you been on the cytomel? If you are sensitive to T3, then you are going to have same with armour. In fact the ratio of T3 is higher than the T4.
Also, are you breaking up your 10mcg daily into 5 in morning and 5 in afternoon?
