Why is hard to get FT4 and T3 up when such a low TSH

Hi All,

I have been on Levothroid 67 mg and Cytomel 10mg (Total) per day for
6 weeks. Been slowly increasing dose because of being hypo. Are these
results OK? or is my TSH too low?

I also take 5 mg of Cortef a day for my low functioning adrenals.

TRIIODOTHYRONINE - TRUE,SER/PLAS,QN           124     range 70-200 ng/dL

T4 FREE   1.2          range 0.8-1.7 ng/dL

TSH   0.2                 range0.2-5.5 uIU/mL

Why does my TSH have to drop so low to get my T3 and FT4 into normal
range??

I do feel a tiny bit hyper.

Are these number s OK?

Thanks so much,
Sue T

Your Free T4 is a little low, but that is probably because you are taking cytomel as well as the Levothroid.

Your T3 looks a teeny bit low, but if you feel good, it's good enough.

Your TSH is low.

This is just a guess, but;

Your TSH might be low because of your Adrenal glands. When your adrenal glands get tired, they can inhibit TSH production to slow the thyroid down. The slow adrenal glands make the metabolism slow down to a rate they can keep up with.

If that is what's going on, then the correct hormone level is actually too much, as far as your adrenal glands are concerned.

Your numbers are going to look funny until your Adrenals are propped up again.

Once your Adrenal glands are happy again, you may need less thyroid medication, so you may be doing a balancing act for a while.

Like I said, it's only a guess, but if you read about adrenal and thyroid problems combined you will learn that they interact with each other and treating them together is good, but it can make levels look odd.
