Anyhow, I spoke to a Dr. on the phone (My Dr. is out on leave), she looked at my chart and said that as we get older, we exercise less. I am only 35. I explained to her how hard I am working and the weight is not coming off, I mean 16 lbs since December?
She suggested Alli. But, I don't know if she realized that I am on Levothroid. I called back, and the Dr. Office is already closed. Is Alli safeSafe driving for teens Safe sex to use with Synthroid? Or did the Dr. know already by looking at my chart that I am on Levothroid?
I wanna start Alli tomorrow and I don't want to wait all weekend before I can get ahold of her again.
Until your tsh comes down and you are no longer hypo...weight loss will be SLOW.
Be careful the Alli doesnt upset the T4 med.
Wait until your Doctor is back....a few days arent going to hurt.
After all...we have thyroid issues for a lifetime once diagnosed lol.
Err on the side of caution.
Not unless someone else here is using the same product and on Synthroid.
Good advice from the ladies. I would only suggest that you post your thyroid test results and ranges so that we can see what tests have been done and see what else may need to be done. Dependent on what test your doctor is using to determine your meds, you may not have attained the Euthyroid state desired, therefore, continuing a low metabolism.
Ive lost some weight Barb so wirhgt loss ISNT impossible ..just a lot slower.
I also think that due to being a fraction hypo, I wont lose anymore for the time being but I havent tried to lose it either...its just dropped off once I became Euthyroid.
The most important thing to me is that I am happy, I am breathing and I am alive.
I think the first thing you loss with thyroid problems is....
SELF CONFIDENCE.
And I think until you start working on that and start to accept who and what you are, the quicker you are to a road to losing some weight.
Most also dont realise that the weight BEFORE is HYPER weight.
I'm just happy I'm not at the hospital 3 times a week or not in tears, or not anxious or not calling an ambulance and able to work once again.
Need I say more?

Last week I posted an FDA warning on exactly this topic.

I agree with Deb and Stella - what's a couple more days going to matter?
