Thank you so much for that encouragement!! At times I feel fine, but then there are those times when my body is in such pain and I'm wondering is all this due to this vit d defeciency?? To hear these words from you and others on this forum helps a lot!! And I am very thankful. I did take a TSH blood test that came back negative, but I still wonder if that could be it. I will continue to follow up with the doctors to be sure I'm covering all bases! And any new info I get I will be sure to share! Thanks again!!
wow! So sorry to hear this. It ***** feeling this way. My vitamin D def. started at 20.9 back in August, I did the prescription 50000 IU for 12 weeks and after my last dose I was diagnosed as being Hyothyroid. Started on the lowest dose and a month later my thyroid became suppressed and they cut it to 1/2 a pill daily. I go back for a blood draw and appt next month, but have to admit I feel a lot better. The last time i had my vitamin D checked it was up to 36...YAY! It took awhile to feel better from that, but I know it takes time. Somebody said on here that it took awhile for your body to become that deficient, it'll won't be fixed over night. I keep repeating that to myself. I went from being in pain almost every day and literally crying (I'm not a cryer) to being able to get back into the swing of my life. I still have aches and pains and the dizziness comes and goes, but I was just wondering if the anyone else could relate. If it was a common thing among hypothyrodians. These message boards have been a god send especially when I feel like I'm losing it. It's nice to know there are other people out there. Don't know how you manage to be there for your child on top of all of this other stuff:( Hang in there. It will be figured out. Hope you feel better soon! Keep me posted on your situation.
Also I have that chronic neck pain that you are referring to almost daily!!
Hello Carla! Your situation seems pretty exact to mines. I was dx with a low vitamin d level of 8 back in December 2011. I began taking a dosage of 50,000 iu once a week. I was experiencing so many symptoms from headaches, chest pains, dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, even weight loss (which i'm still unsure if this is due to vitamin d) and the list goes on. I have been taking the vitamin d since then and some of my symptoms have subsided but not all. After reading that low vitamin could mean that you have an underlying disease, I decided to see an endocronologist. He drew bloodwork and increased my vitamin d dosage to 50,000 iu three times a week, calcium four times a day, and magnesium once a day. I've also been referred to an ENT for some swollen lymph nodes which he doesn't seem to think are extreme (behind the ear and one small one under neck that has went away with meds). Just yesterday I called the doc because I'm having a foamy urine daily and my stool sometimes contains white seeds. They tested my urine and of course it came back normal. I forgot to also mention that the endo doctor tested my TSH level and said it was normal. I really am like so lost and don't know what to think or do. My primary doc has referred me to a urologist because I've also been having pains in both of my lower sides constantly and constant chest pain daily. I see that you have went through a similar experience and just wanted to know if you had any advice to help me get through this. By the way I'm a 27 yr old female, wife and mother of a 17 month old daughter that wants to get back to normal!!! Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you!
Hypothyroidians can have muscle pain when hypo, and some even when your no longer hypo. But not all.
Hypothyroid will magnify what health issues you already had too.
Massage, possibly T3 levels in upper third, magnesium glycinate, and malic acid (a natural fruit acid) all help muscle pain and help reguvinate the muscle recovering chemical ATP process that is altered from hypothyroid.
