Hey you guys! Great News!!!

Well this says lots about what I think of all you guys, because I've decided to share it with you even before my family!!! Is that really bad?! But last week the doc who was decent about my thyroid problems and thought I did have a case sent me to a top Endo today. And guess what! I have finally got a diagnosis. I know it's what you lot have been saying all along, but hearing it from an endo's mouth finally, was glorious!!! Based on my swinging TSH &T4s, etc. she's diagnosed Hashimotos. My anti-body results still aren't back yet, but she said she doesn't need them! She's certain. Also that I have a very early severe menopause (which I already knew about-it's killing me!). But that both conditions together are kicking the **** out of each other and sending my whole hormone system out of whack. She can't treat me until my TSH stays high though as it's too dangerous with my TSH sending me hyper to hypo etc. at the moment. But she's sure I'll settle soon in hypo and she will start me on thyroxine. Roll on that day! But just getting a real diagnosis confirmed has done wonders for me. And once again, I will never be able to thank all you lot enough for keeping me going, making me fight, cheering me up when I felt so sad and frustrated. And lastly, just for being there and for being my friends.

That's great news! It's nice when the doctors confirm what you suspected. Proves you aren't crazy ;-) Congratulations!

Oh no! Let me rephrase that! I don't mean best as in better than having everyone here diagnose me. I mean as in my "best day" so far down this horrible road. You lot are by far the best and that's for sure!

Thanks to all of you for your kind words. Yes it does feel much more comfortable to have a diagnosis and feel validated. I feel I can cope better now I know definately what I'm dealing with. Like I said, I know everyone here always knew what was happening to me and I am so grateful for that. But having an Endo actually do something is the best!

It must be such a relief for to finally get the diagnois you knew was coming. It gives one a sense of validiation especially if you have had the run around from doctors. I agree with jeblondon, it is nice to be around people who can relate to what you are going through. Family is awesome but sometimes you want to talk to people who are on the same page as you. Take care of you-Mar

Great news!  Doesn't it feel so good when someone listens and responds and gets a result for you?!  I am so pleased for you that at least now you know what you are dealing with.  Oh, and don't feel guilty about coming on here first - it's good to share with people in the same boat, going through the same storms.  I'm so glad I found this site and am now popping in and out via the newly aquired laptop all day!

Got to wait another 3 wks for that one! They go at a snail's pace in the UK! Put it this way, it's taken a year just to get this far! But I'll definately put them on when they're in as you're the expert on that!
