High tsh count in child

My daughter recently saw her pedo with the symptoms of extreme tireness, body aches & being very cold.  Her tsh count came back over 500!  The doctor started her on synthroid & will be re-tested in 2 wks.  She is still extremely tired,hs trouble concentrating& remembering things & is very emotional.  When will we start to see a change in her symptoms?  She's having trouble keeping up with school & is usually a straight A student.

I'm sorry to hear that your daughter is having so many problems. I also have high TSH levels (92.17), and I know how hard it is to concentrate in school. After alot of hard work and many hours of studying, I became a nursing assistant and finished at the top of my class. Hopefully she gets the help she needs soon, it's very frustrating, and her teachers probably don't understand what she's going through, but tell her to hang in there.
