Help with test results doc says im fine

I am a 31 year old male 200lbs. partial thyroidectomy.

I have been feeling tired, spacey and cold for a month now.  I had blood work a few days ago.  Everything came back within the normal ranges.

Nurse told me this:

Free Thyroxine - 1.38
T4 - 1.9

She never mentioned t3 or TSH.  Not sure if T3 is free tyroxine and if T4 is the same as TSH.

They are within the normal limits but I still feel tired and have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

What do i do?

I was wondering if any one was on cytomel and synthroid. If so where there any side effects of the cytomel. I have ben on synthroid for 8 years, but just recently started cytomel.

I had the surgery in July of 08, just a few months ago.

I made an appt. with an endocrinologist next week.  hopefully that will help.  after surgery the surgeon wanted me to take 75mcg of synthroid but I never did because I felt fine.  Latley though I have started feeling hypo.  The doc said my test were fine so he said I needed no dosage of synthroid.  Yesterday I quarted the 75mcg dose of synthroid and took about an 18.75mcg dose.  I guess I'll start there until I see the endo.

I think you need to get the blood panels redone.

What meds are you on?

Here is what you can d\consider discussing with your doctor

Run the TSH Free T3 Free T4 and a TPO antibody blood panel

You may want to consider asking for Vit B testing and iron too. I also would think about digging into a an testastrone panel too.

I had an ultrasound and a radioactive scan.  The doc found one cyst and tumor that was removed and found benign after surgery.  I have a partial thyroid left and i thought it had taken over.  I suspect hashimotos but im not sure.  Yeah its frustrating.
