Should I be ask to skip a dose

my twin sister also has thyroid problems, she went to get lab work done and they
checked her labs for thyroid  and she was over active .
So the Doctor see's her and tells her to skip one dose a week.
I was really upset with that remark! why wouldn't the Doc just adjust medication?

Stella is correct.

Skipping a dose is a very common practice, sometime they are asked to double up on certain days. It just depends on the lab work or doctor, BUT like they mentioned, make sure the lab work is done again.

I have done all types of adjustments, skipping, doubling, changing pill dosage, stop for a week, and restart. It is not unusual.

These meds are hormone related and are slow in activity. Skipping a dose sometimes alters this hormones to slow down and helps the patients move to a better level.

I am sure testing will be done a few weeks after skipping the dose to see where she is at.

Then a decision of decrease could be done.
