I just got my scan results today, everything seems fine the left thyroid is normal and the scan did not show any nodules. But because the ultrasound reflects a 3cm structure in my right thyroid fossa, I must continue to be in observation. I will have another ultrasound in three months that will be used to compare the current one. The ultasound says thatthis structure may represent residual of the right lobe of the thyroid. This is a never ending story, but I'm glad to hear it is not something worst!!! :)
Hi .. did they say it could be scar tissue? I'm not sure except with a partial there is still thyroid lefton th eother side so the other side could maybe regenerate but I'm just guessing and really don't know. Did they suggest a CT Scan or MRI to further see if it is overgrowth, or scar tissue?
I had a partial in 2007 also .. right side and still have a small 4.0 mm stable nodule on the other side and get an ultrasound ev 6 mos and now they say 1 yr cause it is stable.
Let us know.
