The only nutty ones in my opinions are ....
The Endos (hehehehe) !
They are not educated enough on thyroid issues and treat everyone the same.
Its like dosing a smaller weight woman the same meds as a woman twice her size.
You just dont do that.
You aint nutty....your just a little unwell (wink) :)
Thank you all for your response!!!
I started to wonder if I wasn’t going nuts as my physician has made me feel. I'll get a referral to an endocrinologist for appropriate testing, and look for a new physician. Thanks again!
I'm one of those people and my suggestion is to get antibody tests done along with the Free's
It sounds to me like you have more of an autoimmune issue happening than your "run of the mill" thyroid issues.
Whether Grave's or Hashimoto - I'd get them both done along with the Tgab test too.
Many -- many - have TSH labs that look like yours - low or hyper - and then .............
BAM -
Hashimoto's is the cause.
Get the right tests.
Both Hypo and Hyper symtoms can be very much alike in most cases but your Tsh shows Hyper and not hypo.
Ask for an ultrasound to be done on the thyroid.
This will rule out thyroiditis , nodules, goiter etc...then ask for antibody testing to be done.
Your TSH would indicate an overactive thyroid, the normal range you reffered to is an outdated standard (As per AACE) (Board of Endocrinology) the old standard was .5 to 5.0 The new standard is .3 to 3.0, As far as symptoms are concerned, some are as follows, Depression, Anxiety, Heart Palps, Increased Heart Rate, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, What we call Brain Fog, Mild to Severe Muscle Aches and Cramps, Fatigue, Stiff Neck, Trouble swallowing, Sleep Apnia, Insomnia and the one that you have concerning Reflux and Esophagus interests me because I just went from HYPO to Hyper and I am having the same stomach and esophagus problems now and for the last 12 days. My advice (And I am not an MD, Just a Thyroid sufferer like the rest of us here) would be to try and find an Endocrinologist who is experienced with Thyroid and follows the 3.0 TSH standards, Also if you have any of the other blood work like Free T3 and Free T4 Post them here for further explanation of your condition, TSH does not show the whole picture, There are members here that have been through all that you are going through and can offer tips and help. Good Luck to You FTB4
