I need help with thyroid test results and what should I do?

TSH - 2.975
Thyroxine (T4)  - 9.4
T3 Uptake - 24
Free Thyroxine Index  - 2.3

I have read that the new guidelines for TSH is 2.0- 3.0 and i have found that a normal range for the Free thyroxine should be 0.8 to 1.5

I am 35 year old female, I have alot of the symptoms of having hypothyroidism, What other tests should I have a doctor do?

I forget things alot, I am tired most of the time, I have achy muscles, I gain weight even when I am active, My periods are So severly heavy when I have them and they are very irregular.
I am constipated, I don't usually have a bowl movement but every other day or longer. I fight boughts of depression. my eyes feel dry alot, I have vertigo alot, plus a bunch more symptoms.

Years ago when I was 16 my peroid stoped and my doctor did tests and put me on meds to help me, he had me come back in 3 weeks. I had gained about 30lbs in those 3 weeks and he told my mom to take me to a endocronoligst. But she didn't.
He said something major has to be wrong no one could gain 30lbs in 3 weeks just by eating. I was very active also in high school.

I started working out 4 to 6 days a week cardio at least 1 hour everyday, and lifting weights 3 days a week. I was also on a diet of 1200 calories. I stayed on this diet for 8 months

I lost 50lbs the first 2 months and after that I maintained, I would change up my routine to shock my body and after 6 months not loosing but toning, I went to my doctor, he said it was just stress, and wanted to put me on a drug that helped with stress and I should loose, That didn't work.

Tell me what the levels are and what all I should have tested Please

In my opinion it sounds like something is going on. I think your TSH is too high - but I really don't believe there is a ONE magical TSH for everyone.

I know most feel better when there TSH is about a 1.0 - but that will be accompanied by a higher Free T3 too.

I think you have grounds to persue more on your thyroid causing you issues. The only thing is with your lab numbers - most doctors will not treat and you have to find one that takes you seriously. That is hard to do.

I need to correct a couple of things in what I wrote above, I have found that the new guidelines are from.3 to 2.0-3.0

also I am severly obese, I have a fatty liver which I have read that the thyroid helps control liver function.
