My OB/GYN did the FSH test some years ago, to determine I was in Menopause. The weight has been coming on for the last 10 years. However I gained 10 in the last 2 years. That's scary and it is so hard to get off. I am writing down everything I eat and exercising every other day, now.
Well if you doctor is going by the old ranges of TSH then yes you are with the HIGHER side of normal
Yet he is not aware the the new reference ranges to be classified as hypothyroid is .3 to 3.0
Which means he whould at least be testing you further and possibly trialing you on a thyroid med.
Meno is tough on a body as you know - Did he run a FSH - or cortisol testing on you?
How long did it take for you to put on that 30pounds?
He said I am not out of the range of needing thyroid medication. I just need to diet and exercise. I am about 30 lbs. overweight. I feel OK, just a little sluggish, not allot of energy. Hard to get motivated to exercise.
What does your Dr, say? How do you feel at this level?
