You know you are going through all this for a purpose.  To help others here.  YOU were one of the people 2yrs ago almost to this very date, who helped me the most when I needed it when I found out I had to have a FNA nodule biopsy.  And then the 9 week wait from FNA atypical results to surgery to medication to lifes ups and down thru acceptance and to where I am today.

We go through some rough patches in life with a reason we really don't always comprehend or know why .. but I know why . It's to help thousands around the world here on the Internet by sharing with us your knowledge, wisdom, and strength as not onlly a thyroid patient, but a friend I am proud to know.

You guys kick goiter!   :-)

Everyone at the hospital was dressed up.  The tech who took me for the scan was dressed as the bride of Frankenstein and had a scar drawn across her neck.  I told her she had better find a better thyroid surgeon next time.  :-)

Okay, after waiting THREE HOURS (they were really overbooked and had some emergencies) I finally got my scan.  Bad part was they were having a Halloween party at the same time and all I could smell was spaghetti and garlic bread (guess what I ran out and ate after).

They put the radiologist on the phone with me right after the scan (thank goodness all the hospitals here are connected) and he read my results to me right then and there.  Mild uptake in the liver and throat - mostly in my salivary glands and thyroid bed area.  Levels were low enough though that he classified it as a "clean" scan.  Wahoo!   He suggested that my Tg be followed every 3 months for a few years and no more scans unless it starts rising again.

I get the Tg results tomorrow (they were at .2 last week).

Wahoo - guess that I'll celebrate my 5-year mark (7 November) by NOT having to have the Chernobyl dose.

Now we can do a PET scan and biopsy to see why I have so much liver pain without having to postpone for the RAI.

Yeah, shuffle one problem to the side to deal with a few more.  :-)

Thanks everyone for being so supportive.  Oh, and I radiated all the neighborhood kids tonight by handing out candy.  Do y'all see that glow over Utah???  Yeah, my fault.  LOL

Thanks all - love you all, you are MY rock!!
