multi nodular goitre, thyroid antibodies, lump thyroid

Hi,
I'm at my wits end. I've had several ms symptons now since June 2007, have been seeing a neurologist, so far had 3 normal mri's of brain and whole spine, and a negative L.P.
I have a multi nodular goitre, high levels of thyroid antibodies since 2004 that I know about, and a lump in right side of thyroid that turned out to be fine via a FNA.
I have constant dizziness, tingling in feet, groin, hands, burning sensations, numbish feel to face, feet, cold spots, had twitching etc.
My thyroid has been checked several times, and its fine, my TSH is also fine, all I have is the high levels of thyroid antibodies.
Can my symptons be due to any thyroid problems?????????????
A nurse I spoke to once said she suffered with tingling and dizziness due to having hashimots, I've even read on a thyroid site that thyroid symptons can worsen in the heat, as does symptons of ms.
I just want answers, I'm sick of feeling so crappy all the time.
I suffer with absolutely no fatigue, I'm very hyper, I'm always on the go.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.................

Melissa

Thanks, will have to find them and post them, very busy at moment.
I'm also in Australia, in Queensland, I know about the heat here, thank god for air conditioners....lols
I do know that my TSH are in  between the no's they should be, will try to dig them out tonight.
I was told of neuro that I have hashimotos enc.........(some long name), where you have neurological symptons and high levels of thyroid antibodies, which is steroid responsive, but I must'nt have it as he give me 2 lots of steroids and neither took away my symptons.
All my symptons are ms ones, although to look at me you would not think there is anything wrong with me, I have a lot of sensory symptons, tingling, numbness, burning etc. But am sick and tired of looking for answers, and am willing to take anything on board, will get the TSH levels and as soon as I find them will post them.......
Thanks again, Melissa

I was 'normal' for over 15 years...kept telling them I was not well. I had dizziness, so was sent to a neurologist...no surprise that nothing was out of the ordinary on that! I had heart palpitations, nothing wrong on every EKG I had. The heat ( I am in Australia and it gets bloody hot in summer!) would knock me out and I would be in tears. I had rashes, weight problems etc etc etc...Nothing was wrong with me so off to a psychiatrist they sent me....only last year did I get believed after I had my left thyroid out in May 07. Turns out I had SEVERE Hashimoto's disease....Like DAH I said to them...no freaking kidding!
So NORMAL is NOT normal for every one...so insist on getting everything tested and as AR says pop them up and I bet we will find an answer for you!
Cheers!

Hi
Will have to dig them out.
I do know that my TSH the 3 and the 4 are normal levels, and my thyroid is not over or under by the tests but my endo said one day it will eventually go under or over due to my goitre or the antibodies.
I know the high levels of thyroid antibodies were detected in 2004 so I've had them since then.
I will find the results and post them.....
Thanks, Melissa

Got any test results you could share?
TSH? Free T4 with lab range?

Are your levels good or is the doctor looking at a report that does not say "low" or "high" after the test result and telling you it is normal?

You can test normal and be sick. Normal is not the same as optimal or healthy.
