A little over a year ago I found a nodule on my thyroid. Doctor did all the tests everything came back normal, not cancerous and thyroid levels normal. I just had my first annual follow-up ultrasound (I don't remember doing bloodwork again) back in December, I believe. Again, he said everything was normal! For the past few months my neck has been SUPER itchy, I itch it all the time. Sometimes I actually scratch myself because I'm itching the area so hard! Never thought anything of it until about 2 days ago when I found yet another nodule right above the first one (the first one is located just off to the right side, towards the bottom of my neck, like right above where they would put a trachea), but more centered. Unlike the first one, this nodule is hard to the touch and painful when I touch it. I just called the ENT to make an appt but they are no longer accepting my insurance for adults, but the receptionist is going to ask to make an exception since im already a patient and is going to call me later to tell me whether or not i can be seen there. So i figured i would ask some of you guys your opinions! Reading through some of the other questions, y'all seem very knowledgeable! Anyways....i googled some stuff and it keeps bringing up Hashimoto. Could it be a possibility, with the itchy skin and the second nodule (i also have little other nodules on the sides of my neck that have been there for years)? In addition, i have very brittle toe nails, which i thought was toe nail fungus, which won't go away with treatment of Diflucan, but finger nails are mostly ok. I know nothing is certain without the tests but i just wanted some more info and opinions I guess.
