What is with my thyroid?

46 year old female. For 4 weeks--since visiting in Denver I have been increasingly nervous, bad insomnia, a heart rate of 110 at rest in bed and a feeling of heart irregularities.I have swelling in my legs that doesn't seem to go away during the night. My appetite is Big--and I have lost 6 pounds. I am overweight. Just last week I had labwork drawn by a friend who works at a lab. I have no Dr. to evaluate this so can you help? Here is my thyroid panel
T3THYROXINE,FREE (T4) H 4.9 :THYROID STIMULATING HORMONe L 50
I do not at all look like someone with a hyperthyroid! . Thanks for your help.

I see that your FT4 is high, which would indicate hyper; I'm sorry, though, I still don't understand the "THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE L 50 [32.0-48.4] % UPTAKE" - I hope someone else will be able to understand it better, as I've never seen a lab result like that.

Here are my test results pasted right from the lab sheet. Does this make more sense? Sorry about the confusion

THYROXINE,FREE (T4) H 4.9 [0.6-1.1] ng/dL

THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE
L 50 [32.0-48.4] % UPTAKE

You have "T3THYROXINE,FREE (T4) H 4.9".  I don't understand that because T3 is not the same as Thyroxine, Free (T4).  T3 and T4 are 2 totally different hormones; you should have tested for both Free T3 and Free T4.

Please post the actual test run, along with the result and the reference range used by your lab.  These ranges are lab specific, so must come from your own report.

I also don't understand the "THYROID STIMULATING HORMONe L 50".  Usually, an "L" indicates that result is low; however, if your TSH is really "50", that is not low and would not indicate hyperthyroid.

Your symptoms indicate hyperthyroid; however without clear lab results, it's impossible for members to comment fully on your situation.
