I read the article and you can chalk up another "non-believer".
I also noted the absence of antibody testing, so there's no telling if he even HAD Hashi's to begin with. OR was even hypO for that matter.
Hey, Red - can you rewrite your response? Try doing it in word processing, then copy/paste into a response - then if anything happens, you don't have to try to remember it all.
Not guilty either!!!
Write it again lol!
Not guilty.
Ive got no control over postings:(
Wouldve been interesting to read.
HEY!!!! I wrote a really good response to this article and today it is NOT here! WHO reported it??? That is the only way someone can delete anothers message. I wrote about how Hashi's goes through stages and how the thyroid is not affected by the C3 in chiropracting....Grrrr I am really peeved!
What an inspiration you are!!!
I am finally starting to feel the same way, but have to be honest, when TSH levels were up after having RAI in Oct, it was hard to stay positive, it really grabs you by your feet and throws you down! The Dr. let my levels go up way too high and it has been a long road to feeling better. I also recommend people have a complete blood workup, as I was also very low with iron, vitamin D and B. I believe this is either caused by RAI or Hypothyroid. READ READ READ up on your disease, there is alot out there, not all believable, but you learn to read between lines.
I am finally getting to feel "normal" again and that makes me feel positive about fightiing this disease, "graves". I know it is hard but once your levels are acceptable for how You feel, things will look up. Don't let Drs. treat you with just bloodwork, but also how you feel.
Also I noted in the article, he didn't mention if he got his anti bodies tested...... So its very mis leading and just over all very badly written!
Wow, thats great! Cheers
x
I sent the link to my chiro. She hasnt responded but I will keep you guys posted.
Ya, be very interesting to get more views on it!!!!!
Bump Bump
Phew, I thought I was the only one thinking he was a bit of a nutter! 9 months of researching this whole thyroid thing and its the first I saw......
If only it was that easy, get a guy to mess with your back and hey presto your healed....
I just thought it was a strange article and got some very good opinions..
I also fall into the non believer catagory too!
Wish this whole thig was that easy. Maybe he got pain a large amount of money to write that article!
Very strange!
Article is full of things that just don't add up. Details are questionable.
Testimonials always bother me. People can convince themselves of anything.
The guy writing it most likely actually believes it...probably needs our forum!
oops...sorry...I didnt mean to write a BOOK lol.
My conclusion to that article was the person was suffering from Hashi's (as diagnosed) but was going through a 'hyper' phase as many do. It doesnt state the follow up 5 years later where if it did, it would state that the person has had a TT or RAI as the levels were unstable ...hyper/hypo.
It is very easy for someone just diagnosed with Hashi's or Graves to read ill-informed information off the net.
Whilst most of it is correct, a lot is bad info.
Like a lot of others, I used to look for 'cures' before I had RAI & TT.
Like a lot of others, I never found that 'magic cure' as there isnt one.
Its like saying that if you have MS, they can cure it.
Or if you have Diabetes I, they can 'cure ' it.
THEY CANT.
They can 'control' it but not cure it.
Just as I control my Graves now.
I read everything I could get my hands on whilst Hyper with Graves as life was a living he\\ for me back then. Some information I kept in my head, although a lot of information I tossed aside as being utter garbage.
This is the desision most have to make when researching their condition.
Be open to suggestions but carefully and rationally think things through on whether what they are stating is really true or just a meer 'con' for money.
There are a lot of people here who swear by Mary Shoman...they think everything she writes and says is 'gospel'.
I beg to differ.
*Living well with Graves and Hyperthyroidism* was a great source of knowledge to me and a fantastic book that I would never part with BUT.....I dont believe everything she wrote in her book.
I read that book so many times and what it did do for me was..give me the power to gain MORE knowledge. It gave me the incentive to want to know more so that I was able to be my own advocate in my own journey.
I learnt about levels, I learnt about symptoms ...I learnt one he\\ of a lot.
But the best thing to come out of it was..........
I believed in ME.
I believed that no matter what, I was going to get through this and that I refused to succumb my life to the debilitating symptoms that Graves can cause.
There is life AFTER Graves and Hashi's and having a POSITIVE attitude is the battle half won.
There were times I hit rock bottom (more times than most think) but I got back up each time and was determined that nearing 50 years of age, I wasnt going to die a sad, lonely, tearful woman.I wasted 26 years of my life to Post Traumatic Stress and Agoraphobia. I wasnt going to waste another 26 years.
I wanted my life back...and if I couldnt get back 100% of it , then 99% was good enough for me.
Thats what everyone should make their GOAL...to get back their life and not stop until you get it.
And in the process of it all, if you upset Doctors, upset Endos..then so be it.
Sounds hard and callous but true.
Only YOU can be the one who can 'fix' the life you lead.
I hope all newbies reading this will understand that although life is full of doom and gloom for them at the moment...that there is life after Graves and Hashi's.
And if you want it that bad, you will find it.
I did.
Another non-believer here. He probably never really had hashimotos. Who knows if he even took any antibody tests... pfff.
I wish chiropractic work could solve everything.
Chiropractic work is great if you have a kink in your neck... not to cure major diseases and illnesses... lol
Read the article. You can put me down as a non-believer.
Oh sorry, you must read the article I just posted the link for it there
