Thank you all very much for the clarificiation. It does look like they want to do a small dose, but I won't know for a few weeks for sure.. :-) I am beginning to undersrtand more and more.. There is a lot to learn!

A thyroglobulin (Tg) level 6.2 is high for post TT but what the doctors will want to watch for is a trend in your levels. If the Tg level decreases over time then they just need to watch it. If it increases then you definitely need RAI. If it stays the same they may either opt to watch and see or do RAI.
Discuss it with your endo - it's a bit too high.
They need to also check for thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAB) - they can really throw the results of the Tg test off if the antibodies are too high.
Thyroid meds will not affect the Tg levels (unless you go off of them completely for a long time then the Tg may temporarily increase).

I would think you do need RAI...as that is normal proceedure after Thyca.
RAI is no big deal.......you will be fine
((Hugs ))
I don't have the sheet, so I don't know the ref range, all I know is it is high. I have been told that, based on those numbers, I do need RAI.
What is the reference range on the lab sheet of the thyroglobulin?
I wouldnt say the dessicated can affect the TG.....if anything it may make you a little hyper but usually antibodies are not affected by dessicated thyroid hormone.
Usually after a TT for cancer...RAI is scheduled.
Has this been discussed with you?
Hi there.....I am going to move this post (bump) to the front for others with experience with this to see. :)
