Please HELP.

I don't know what I have but this week my doctor told me that my Thyroid test are abnormal and explained nothing else. I am not worried till I see the Endocrinologist by the end of next month, Oct, 2009.

Free T4 is 1.1
TSH, 3rd Generation is  5.32 H

Can somebody explain me this please?

Your high TSH and borderline low FT4 indicate hypothryoidism (not enough thyroid hormone). Many of us get this and it can be corrected with thyroid drugs.

Really, your doctor should also check your FT3 levels as well. Also, request an antibodies blood test (TGab and Anti-TPO) to see if you have Hashimoto's causing the problem. Hashimoto's is when antibodies attack the thyroid causing hypothyroidism. The treatment is the same.

Once you get on the right meds, you will feel better, but it may take some time. I have Hashimoto's. Any other questions, and you can send me a message.

:) Tamra
