I used to take qualitest brand generic thyroid...... due to the FDA nd new regulations concerning guidlines.. they are no longer manufacturing it at this time... here are the main facts...
i was taking 45 mg qualitest brand thyroid every morning... empty stomach.
have taken it for 4 years .. have never had a problem.
a while back, when i tried Armour brand .. half hour after taking it i started throwing pvc's.
after two days liket this.. went to cardiac hospital.. was told i was throwing them.. they were not overly concerned.. and that it would go away.
it did go away... but now.. i am left with this fear.
when i spoke at length with the compounding pharmacy pharmacist, he told me that ALL formulations of t3 and t4 are generally the same.. that there is some difference.. but not a whole lot..
he also told me that armour brand.. and qualitest b rand... well.. that the qualitest was probably alot weaker than th e armour brand. and that i should start smaller this time..
he also mentioned that it could have been the fillers that they used in the armour... so.. i went online and found asite that states each filler for westhroid.. and for qualitest brand.. basically the same.. i seeked at armour as well. and the fillers are mostly the same.. but some are different than the other two.
can someone please tell me about their experience with switching? has anyone had this kind of reaction when switiching... no doctor can tell me what dose to take.. i am freaking out about how much i should take.. because i dont want to have a reaction like that again... any help would be greatly appreciated!!
