Hi, I just came back from my gp. He told me I'm positve for both antibodies TSI & TPO.My eyes are always dry & lately I feel pressure behind my eye & headaches.Has anyone  been positve for both & what treatment are you on. I'm not on any thyroide medication, Exept for athenolol for fast heart beat.
Can anyone help me.My latest tsh was 6.5.

Did your doctor mention any plan to retest your TSH and Free T4 any time soon?

Atenolol is strictly to control rapid heart rate.

You should be started on Synthroid or something similar, but your doctor may be wanting to retest to see if your TSH is fluxuating.

With anti-bodies for both Hashimoto's and Grave's, it turns into a more complicated procedure to diagnose and treat, depending on how high the anti-body count is and which disease is dominant.

It sounds like you are leaning toward Hashimoto's, but the pressure and dry eyes are more common to Grave's, so your doctor may be waiting a bit to see what is going to happen next.

seems like hashimoto's, and some fluctuate between hyper and hypo, and the migraine type headaches are typical in my
experience.  dry eyes is no surprise.
my treatment is synthroid/cytomel combination.
your fast heart beat and atenolol is a fly in the ointment as it were.  this gp gave you no
idea of treatment or what?  atenolol is sometimes used i believe for grave's or hyper thyroid.  at least i had one friend who had that as a treatment.
