Hey Dearie! :)
Glad to see you! Guess we're crawling out of the woodwork for this thread. LOL! The cat's not one of mine. None of them would stand for it. Gotta love Google. :D I hear you on the brain stuff. Ignorance ain't bliss, it's bloody frustrating!
Hugs!
I'm still here. Some times more than others. Kinda like my mind, it comes and goes. Spends more time gone visiting than it stays at home.
Nyxie, I love your tinfoil-hatted cat! LOL Is that one of yours that's being tortured that way? Too funny. Miss seeing you on here when I lurk. IM me sometime.
Loooorrrrrrriiiiiiiii, where are you? Don't see or hear anything out of you.

I had a complete thyroidectomy in Aug 2005. I had initially gone in for surgery to remove a nasty looking goiter on the left side of my thyroid and they found a small spot of cancer on the right side.I am taking Armour Thyroid since Levothyroxine did NOTHING for me.I am still struggling tho.I don't feel like I used to and even though my tests all come back within the normal range I can't help but think there is something I need to be tested for.I have a great doctor who has actually tested me for everything I've requested but still.....I was Vit D deficient but that has improved greatly.I actually have an appt tomorrow with my Dr. Maybe we'll figure something out.Anyway,I've had 3 body scans since my surgery and everything is looking good so that is why I don't understand why I haven't regained my energy level back that I used to have.I am 43.I also had a full hysterectomy in Dec.2004.It's been a long 3 years.
Honestly, I was thinking the exact same thing as above. That's too long to wait. My doctor did the u/s, pulled the print-out and showed me what he was seeing right then and there.
I'd call the dr's office, tell them of your fears and ask if you can come in sooner. That doesn't sound like an unreasonable request and hopefully they'll understand and accommodate you.
Good luck.
Your doctor's office is making you wait a month and a half to get your US results?!?!?!? Holy cow, batman! Call them tomorrow and insist that someone call you back with the results. That's insane to make a patient wait a month and a half for test results.
(grrrr to doctors who don't understand how frightening this stuff is)
>> end of rant <<
Hi. I still stop in once in a while. My issues have gotten so much worse but can't afford dr visit so I wait. I can't even speak in my 'real' voice anymore because of the catching & my voice is so deep I use a fake one. Not to mention I am now 148 lbs vs. 115 a year ago. So many more symptoms, but it isn't an emergency yet. I'm gonna go read on here & get caught up with what's going on with everyone. Happy New Year!!
Helloooooo! }}}}}}}}} Newbie lurker here. STILL waiting for that Feb 12th appt to see what all the U/S nodules stuff meant, but after educating myself and learning from all of you, I don't think it's too good. Can hardly think about anything else. Not afraid of bad info, just afraid of not knowing ANYTHING. But, this board is total support and comfort and I admire each and every one of you.
Happy (and Healthy) New Year!
PS Sorry about the "double" post out there, still getting the hang of the board!
Hey Cheryl!
Still around from time to time, maybe once a month or so. Pretty much up to my butt in alligators with other stuff going on.
Keeping my story short and sweet - latest FNA came back as suspicious for follicular neoplasm. Have also developed multiple food intolerances and am currently being tested for Lyme. Wheee!
Have you heard from Dac lately? Kinda worried about her.
Anyhoo, Hey! *waving*
Thank you for the welcome!
My pathology showed my thyroid was double the normal size, had several nodules and was pre-cancerous. The removed parathyroid gland was also pre-cancerous. Now I'm glad they're gone.
I'll attempt the profile page.
Welcome Lindsay. Dealing with children's health issues is very much more difficult than dealing with our own. My daughter was young (16) when she had her thyroid out. Luckily we caught it before it turned cancerous. Dealing with her healthcare crisis was *much* more difficult than facing my own problems. You are a strong woman.
I'm sorry for all you are going through but know that we are here for you!!
Hi I am new- My name is Lindsay and I am the mom of a 2 year old born without a thyroid gland. I look forward to getting you know all of you.
WELCOME to everybody .... as Utah said, sorry you are here, but glad to have you "on board"!
KJ . Feb 5 with be here before you know it! My surery anniv. first yr wil be 1/9/08! I waited 9 weeks from diagnosis to surgery date .. the wait is worse than knowing the outcome.
Juliah & HIto you to .. being a mom and having thryoid issues is not an easy thing to cope with. Stick around the board .. many share similar stories and can help you through this
Welcome to the board and to the maddening world of thyroid conditions. I'm so glad that all of you are here but sorry for all of the struggles you are going through. Hey, if you haven't done it yet, you might want to put your profile on this site so we can make you our "friends" on this site and we can send off-line messages to each other as needed.
Welcome!!!!

papillary carcinoma/RAI and three sisters with papillary carcinoma (one with precancer and a daughter with precancer - we call them the wannabes)
I'm a new mom with a 7.5 month old just diagnosed with Hashimoto's. It's wonderful to connect with you guys. My treatment began 6 days ago with Levothyroxine. So, I'm a newbie through and through but life seems to fly by so I won't be saying that for long.
Hi all - I was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's three weeks ago. I also have an area in one of my thyroid nodules that is suspicious (according to the fine needle aspiration) for papilliary cancer. I've decided to have a TT (total thyroidectomy) on February 5th. I know I will be using this forum and posting questions as I go along in regard to the surgery, recover, RAI and things like that. I've already posted a few questions and received some good feedback. I'm very glad I found this site and that you are all willing to help.
I have to say that all of the people on here are all so brave and strong. I hope all of you get to feel normal again. i have been hypo for about 6 months. I am a single mom and worried so much about it when I was diagosed. i feel much better with all your information on this site. thank you to all of you that take the time to answer questions.
Hello and welcome to the board! Yes, my Dr's said in my case 2 surgeries were not a good idea bcz of the terrible way I heal (scar tissue) and that can cause more problems for me than leaving the other side intact (at least as of this writing). Ea. case is so different .... what did your post surgery pathology report show? Mine showed 2 microcarinomas separate and apart from the orig. 2 nodules that were totally benign.
Cheryl (1/07 pap ca)
Hello,
I had a total thyroidectomy and one (hyper) parathyroid gland removed.
At the consult to remove the parathyroid gland, the surgeon saw on an ultrasound my thyroid was bad too. He said it would have to be checked frequently then probably have to be removed anyway. He said two surgeries on the neck are not a good idea so it should be completely removed at the same time. I was floored, but post-surgery pathology and the opinions of others showed he was right.
I like this board because it seems to stick to a more clinical view of things, which helps me.
My heart and admiration go out to those who are dealing with or have dealt with this cancer.
