As goolarra said, everyone is different and TSH is not a good indicator of thyroid status.
I think your weight gain is more from being hypo than being on the med. Once your thyroid levels get to where they are right for YOU, you should be able to lose the weight, but please understand that most likely the weight isn't going to just "fall off" without you having to really watch your diet and make sure you get plenty of exercise.
What other symptoms do you have? And if you have results for FT3 and FT4, along with the lab's reference ranges, it would help members comment more fully.
have u gained a lot weight i know i have about 80lbs an driving me nuts i am on 150mcg
Your question is impossible to answer. TSH, a pituitary hormone, is a very poor indicator of thyroid status. Your doctor should be testing your FT3 and FT4 levels and adjusting meds based on those levels and your symptoms. Each of us has to find the dose that we are most comfortable at. It's a process of trial and error...finding what's a little too much, what's a bit too little, and settling somewhere in between.
If you have FT3 and FT4 results and their reference ranges, please post them. Do you still have other hypo symptoms besides weight gain?
