hyperthyroidism?

I currently do not have health insurance, so I am trying to do as much research on hyperthyroidism as possible. I have been reviewing many on the symptoms and I do experience enough for me to be concerned. I was misdiagnosed with costochondritis, and gerd. I was treated for both but have had the same symptoms for over a year now. Around the times these symptoms arose I also noticed a difference in the way i respond to alcohol. In the past i never got hangovers or many negative effects of alcohol. Now when i drink i feel as if my heart is going to burst sometimes, i have taken my pulse laying down after drinking and it was 120 bpm. Also i feel as if i have been hit by a truck after drinking, i get severe headaches from light and feel very dizzy and lightheaded from stranding. Has anyone else experienced these problems?

You need to have your TSI(THYROID STIMULATING IMMONUGLOBIN(sp) ran and a full thyroid panel run for confirmation of hyper. Yes those are all symptoms but you want to rule out any other possibilities as several diseases mimic each other.

Yes, I have had rapid heart rate for the last two days. I always feel like I am about to pass out. I just make sure to take it slow when I sit up and stand, as this can quickly change your blood pressure and cause you to become extremely lightheaded and possibly fall.

sorry if i bother you but if you have hyperthyroid, did you also have like "sudden attacks" like periods where all of the sudden your heart raced and you thought like you were going to pass out?

Sorry to hear that you were misdiagnosed. I have experienced rapid heart rate, dizziness, and nausea when drinking alcohol. I simply don't like the effects of drinking and I try to avoid it. Prior to the hyperthyroidism I never felt like that when I consumed alcohol, now I am almost frightened to drink because of the way it makes me feel.
