ok ive got an appointment tomorrow. what test if any should i be asking for? and pardon me asking but whats the "interim"? Should i be asking about cytomel being added? im at a loss not functioning well so i need to write this stuff down if any can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
I would call the dr today and explain to him/her what you told us. Especially how you got relief when you skipped the pill. That's important because maybe you are indeed on too much med. Perhaps the dr can order blood work for you in the interim, like what MKlacza mentions on another thread.
Take care.
thank you all for responding, i know i wont do it again, but to be honest with all of you i dont think i can manage for another 10 days before i go see my endo. im on the verge of tears ALL the time, my mind cant seem to sort things through, i snap at my family, i feel so alone all the time and even when i have family around i still feel alone and pull myself away from them. i just cant deal with this anymore, i just cant. i feel like im weak because i cant overcome this and it feels like im seriously losing my mind. i know some say that its normal and everyone feels like this at times but i just dont know how much more i can take.
Listen to above...
I was told the med takes a long time to acclimate into the body but has a long half-life, which means it takes longer than 24 hrs to deminish in the body. This is about the only good thing about the med - that in case you can't take it one day, it won't kill you (good news for those of us who don't have a thyroid).
However, I also learned it deminishes at an unpredictable rate. So in doing what you did, there's no way to tell how much med exited your system in this amount of time or that of time to determine what lesser amount relieved your symptoms. Hope that makes some sense(?).
It seems you'd get more info by staying at one constant, having blood work, then lowering the med, then staying at a constant, then blood work, etc.
But of course, this is what we pay the drs to figure out. So let's put them to work.
oh see i forgot again, i had the blood work done before i skipped one pill. tired of forgetting things sorry .
i only missed one pill. i know that playing around with them isnt so good, but at my wits end i had to try something but i wont do it again. ive missed one or two over the passed year only because i REALLY did forget to take them. i am now beginning to think my meds are too high. when i was at around the 4 range i did feel better then i do now. i have the graves/hyper does graves have it own set of symptoms or is it bunched together with the hyper?
Hi, when you say that you had your labs down, was this before or after you didnt take your pills? Regardless, you are going to have to go back and have labs done anyways.. if you "play" around with your pills... when its time for your labs to be drawn, you still are not going to get a true reading because you are taking them here and there..
Make sense? If you are consistent, your Endo will be able to read the labs in a true sense and see where are you level wise. Playing around withthem and not fessing up will just have him possibly up your dose or lower and then cause more havic!
i have already got my tests done .44 tsh and 19 FT4 all within labs normal range sorry i forgot to mention that, another symptom im tired of, memory isnt what it used to be. i am just trying to relieve some symptoms is all. but i will wait and see what the endo says. what is this cytomel i keep reading about in here? does that or would that help?
If you start playing with your pills, and you go see your Endo in ten days, what are you going to say?
Bloodwork will be run, which will not give a true picture of how you are doing on your dosage.
If you fess up, the Endo will be upset that you have wasted his time, and money on the tests, and tell you to come back in a couple of months after taking your meds correctly.
If you don't fess up, the Endo will look at the tests, which give incorrect information, and make a judgement based on the bad tests.
Does any of this sound wise to you?
