FNA of Hashimoto's typically reveals lymphocytes, macrophages, scant colloid, and a few epithelial cells which may show Hurthle cell change.
Hypercellular means abnormal increase in the number of cells present.
Follicular neoplasm could be signs of malignancy (cancerous) but is not truly diagnostic. Factors that point to malignancy include male gender, a nodule size over 3cm, and over 40 years.
