I did sleep last ngiht but with clonazepam . But at least I slept.. Yesterday was a really bad day though.
I hope you get some sleep too!
Sounds like you need a new dr....Really though, I would still just call and tell him that you would like at least a TSH and Free T4 done and that you are not feeling right. Most drs will just do it, even if they don't agree. I don't want to tell you to "lie" but if you have to, make it sound a little worse than it is. wink, wink...It's been 6 weeks since your last blood draw so I think that they will concede.
Hope you can rest...have you just tried some Tylenol PM? That is safe to use while BFing I think. You can take it during pregnancy so I think it's fine then too.
I did not call today but every time I bring it up they tell me it's anxiety and to take zanax.
I'm so sick of hearing that. I do have anxiety but it only came on with my high TSH level of 56. I just hope I can sleep tonight.
I have that problem too...especially with the low heart rate all the time and the heart palps too.
I really, really think that it is your dosage and think that you said talk to the dr to see what he says. Did you call them today?
I know how hard it is right now...just try to stay relaxed...it will get better. Call your dr.
I just feel so abnormal right now I want to get my life back. Thank You all for helping. I'm not sure what I would do with out this site. One more question Did any one get a burning tingling feeling that starts in the back of your neck and goes down your arms? It comes and goes. Not sure if this is just the anxiety or something more thyroid related. Even when I feel the anxiety my pulse is low. Heart Palps once in a while only at night.
I get awful anxiety + insomnia when meds are too high .. I cannot go below TSH 1.5 w/o side effects.
Let us know what the Dr. says .. make sure he/she listens to you!!!!!
C~
tsh 1.8 on 75mcgs synthroid daily
I just dont know how to cope till I start to feel fine. I'm shaky and have so much anxiety.
This really *****! My poor family I feel bad for them
I had the same thing happen to me. Racing thoughts all the time. Once i had surgery and got on the proper does I felt fine.
Thank You I really needed to here that
I am so sorry that you are upset. I have been there and know exactly how you feel. I still cry sometimes because it is just so frustrating not feeling like yourself. I can totally relate and hope that things start to get better for you soon.
I personally have been struggling with this type of problem for over 7 years and just finally this year have gotten some answers and some medication. I know how hard it can be...do you have a good support system at home? That makes a big difference.
Please talk to the dr about lower your meds a little. Make sure to tell him all the symptoms that you are having...don't worry....this too shall pass. You will not need the anxiety medicine forever....you'll see.
I can commiserate with you as my thoughts also race some during the night or early morning. Usually, I consider it a good thing and wish that I could continue some of the clearer thinking I have from about 4:00 am to 6:00 am and then later in the day the racing thoughts turn sluggish.
My worst nights are if I drink alcohol. One glass of wine and I may be fine but if I drink 2 or more and I will be awake all night.
Your test results seem to indicate over stimulation of T4. Do you have a free T3 test result? If so is the result significantly lower that the FT4 indicating that possibly the T4 is metabolized at a high percentage?
Good Luck
As I'm sitting here writing back all I can do is cry. I want nothing more than to be normal again. Not sure I even know what that is any more. I feel like My PC thinks that this is just anxiety and not related to my thyroid at all. They have given my Lexapro and Clonazepam 1 mg at bed time. The clonazepam does help but I hate thanking it. In the morning I can't nurse the baby I have to pump and dump. But I guess I should just take the med's till this all works out. I'm so afraid that I'll have to take something always for anxiety and I dont want to do that. Up till Oct I had never had a day of anxiety. Thank you all so much I dont know how I would be getting through this with out people that understand.
Oopss....I just re-read your post and I see that they are running the right tests...maybe they just need to tweek your meds. :)
I agree wit Stella, it may be that your meds are a little too high. I have the same symptoms when my TSH gets too low.
I can totally relate to your situation...my TSH in April was 202, 5 months after I had my son. It was down to .34 by June 10th and I felt terrible. Since then it has been up and down, up and down. The roller coast ride has been terrible this past year.
I don't know when it gets better but I hear that it does. It will be okay...try not to stress. Maybe your dr can give you something for anxiety at night and maybe that will help. I was on the verge of calling my pcp for some xanax or something but my meds were lowered and the night sweats and anxiety has gone away...for now :)
Has your dr been running the right tests to check your levels?
Oh barrettsark - I feel for you.
Taking a stab at it - I think you may be a bit high on meds.
Maybe call your doctor and see if you can go to a .100mcg tablet instead of the .112
It may take time - but it could be what you need.
All joking aside I really think I'm going to go crazy. I need to get some help. I went from being so Hypo that all I wanted to do is sleep to this and I hate it. Right now I hate my Life... I have so many kids to take care of and I free like ****. This burning tingling feeling in my neck and down my arms Anxiety or just another symptom??
Are you married to a milkman too??? LOL
That is why I am up at this ungodly hour!
25 yrs of it - so I am just on the "early " cycle permanently
Have you tried melatonin? That sometimes helps me when I can't sleep; though I have to be careful about when I take it because if I take it too late, I wake up groggy. Since I have to get up at 3:30 am, I usually take 1 mg melatonin about 6:30 pm and another 1 mg about 7:00 - 7:30 pm. I use the 1 mg tabs that dissolve under your tongue, but I know most health food stores carry stronger ones as well. Don't know if it will work for you - just a suggestion. Sometimes it helps me, sometimes it doesn't.
Yes they gave me cloipin for night but I try and not use it. Last night at 12:30 I finally took it and went to sleep by 1 AM up by 5 PM
You may be a tad to high on your meds. Also have you had any other testing like magnesium or Vit Bs?
You may want to try a magnesium citrate supplement at night - that may calm you enough to get rest.
Did you doctors try to put you on a sleep aid?
Either way you have got to get rest at night - or you will not feel better.
