It basically means your pitutiary is sending a signal to the thyroid that it is pumping out a bit more hormone and suppressing that number in labs.
That by no means - means.... anything .......and the testing Laura said is where you need to go towards - if you feel you may have thyroid issues.
Hi, I can't answer your question but I was told yesterday that I had a tsh level of 0.03, they are leaving it without meds for now and re-testing me in 6 weeks. I'm nervous and afraid but I have to have faith in the doctor I suppose?! I've been feeling grim for a long time, all sorts of symptoms which look like hyperthyroid but also I wonder about lupus. I hope you will be ok.
It means you need to have a Free T4 and Free T3 done with it to see if this is a thyroid problem or a pituitary problem. TSH done by itself does not explain or show what is going on, as it is a pituitary function test.
