Excessive sweating

by rbl54, Aug 29, 2009 02:49PM
For years now I have had massive sweat attacks. I've talked to many doctors, had gallons of blood tested and none of them have a clue. When it is normal to sweat, I do sweat more than most as did my father and as my brothers and sons do also. But this is far from just normal sweating at appropriate times.

These attacks happen for no apparent reason. All of a sudden I'll get an odd feeling all over and then the faucet opens. I will completly drench my clothes in 10 minutes. Sweat is dripping off my nose and earlobes. It is like every drop of water in my body is coming out of my pores. It happens sitting at home watching TV, while driving, in work situations - basically anytime or anywhere.

I don't feel bad or ill when it is happening but, in some situations, the anxiety can be crippling as everyone gets shocked. I've had one client almost demand that I let him call an ambulance.

They last from 15 - 30 minutes and then just stop. It may happen again in a week or it may be 3 months. I have no idea what the trigger is. Afterwards, I am tremendously thirsty.

Does any one have any idea what this is, suggestions of things to try or a magic cure?

Sounds like something I've had for years. The docs just shrug and say harmones. I don't think so. I think it has something to do with the endocrine system. It controls everthing. It's really not fun. I'm sorry u have this too.
