High Blood Pressure

I am 35 years old and never thought I had HIgh Blood pressure until recently. As I am into my higher studies, when visiting the doctor for a fall, they told me I had high pressure readings of 160/110. My pulse was also high, ( I was diagnosed with tachycardia some years ago which was again put down to stress.) They put it down to anxiety and stress, and gave me atenenol 25 mg. Since then I have developed a fear, and my pulse raises whenever the doctor checks my pressure, and my pressure is high. Even when I check it at home, since I am worried about it, I feel my heard pounding whenever I go near the pressure machine. How do I deal with this worry, and overcome this pressure problem that is really upsetting me alot? By nature I worry alot.. as well as lead a very hectic lifestyle. I have no symptoms of headaches etc.

Thank you for your comments. Visited the doc today and pressure reading was about 140/95 with pulse around 90. She has increased my dose of atenenol 50mg a day. She also wanted me to do some routine tests. I am really worried any after effects for atenenol?>

I can't stress enough, fruits and vegetables! Plenty of fruits and vegetables including 3-4 stalks of celery which have natural blood pressure lowering properties.

Get the good fats, the unsaturated: monousaturated; polyunsturated oils. These include olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, safflower oil, omega 3 fatty acids, soybean oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, flaxseed, salmon, trout, and cold water fish, avacados, and nuts. Stay away from Sautrated and Hydorgenated oils!

Another very improtant factor is however much sodium you get, you need equal amounts of pottassium. Look at the labels of foods because sodium is included in almost all foods especially seasoning and sauces. Pottassium is rich in foods like bananas, cantalope, papayas, potatoes, yams, beans (assuming you rinse them in water to rid them of sodium), and all other fruits and vegetables. When or if you use salt use "no salt" instead or use half sea salt and half no salt. Salt is sodium based and "no salt" is pottassium based.

Exercise!

Good luck
