painful and swollen ankles, heat sensation behind knee and calf

I am a 44 yr old woman who has had bad health for a few yrs. For the past few weeks me ankles and feet are swelling and puffy and oddly very painful when I wake up in the morning. It is very painful to walk on them, I get used to it as the day goes on but by the time the night come they are really swollen again, now Im getting really strange warnth sensations at the back of my calves and knees.I have an ileostomy and a urostomy and have had cervical cancer and had kidney problems of late. Iv started retaining fluid aswell but Im really worried about my ankles being so painful almost like there is nothing cushioning my bones in the morning.I dont want to go into hospital again.

This discussion is related to warm/hot sensation in my leg.

If you have been having kidney issues and fluid retention - that's enough to explain the ankle swelling and pain.  That's the most common place to have fluid retention, and it can be very painful.  Elevate your feet above your heart to help your body get rid of the fluid.  Of course reduce sodium and try gentle massage (of the ankles)

The sensation in your calf might need to be seen, as it can be a symptom of a blood clot.

I wish you the best.  Blessings, Jan
