It could be chronic cysitits or it could also be Interstitial Cystitis. If it was a chronic infection you would feel some better on the antibiotics.  We actually have an IC support forum here on med help and you might want to join us.  You are not alone!!  Your symptoms remind me so much of the place I was at before diagnosis too.  Though there is no cure for IC there are many treatments that can help control your pain and symptoms.

There is also an IC expert forum with a very IC compassionate doctor
that is there to answer questions here on Medhelp as well.

I am an IC support group leader and we have a website MOARK IC that has many articles and info on IC also. Send me a private message if your interested in the link etc.

Keep in touch and let me know how your doing!

It definitely sounds like you have a killer UTI going on there.  I had chronic UTIs for about five years, so I know the pain that you are going through.  It might just take a stronger antibiotic to knock this one out.  I remember my first one took a month of Cipro to clear up.  After five years of it coming back, they finally put me on six months of Levaquin and I haven't had one since.  I have also found that peeing after sex really helps.
