Ask you rhuem MD for a copy of your labs, so you know what labs he/she ran and what wasn't and was tested, and the numbers. You should be tested for thyroid antibodies and have your TSH tested. If your MDs won't run that lab then find a new MD!! This isn't an unreasonable request with your symptoms. Try to stop the sleep aid for a couple of nights to see if you feel more alert during the day. Have you been tested for narcolepsy (a disorder that will causes excessive daytime sleepiness)?-- I have hashi, hypo and also have tingling (in feet) and numbness in hands, so while those aren't common hypo symptoms, they can occurr. Good luck!
No. You should find a different General Physician and get your levels checked. Why would you continue to see a doctor that won't treat you?
Just my opinion, but a GP can handle most thyroid testing.
"Very dismissive of my concerns" would equal "fired" in my book.
Hope you find better doctor.
