I agree with stella I've done a bit of reading and it would appear that your hyperthyroidism (TSH 0.06) and high thyroglobulin could mean that a thyroid cancer is possible. Here is a link which explains it.

I still can't find anything definitive about the Effexor and thyroid problems...there is a lot of evidence to say it is related, although it really doesn't surprise me in the least if they are! In my particular case with Hurthle Cell adenoma I am not able to figure that out yet, if there is a relationship. If there is I will be suing the pants off the psychiatrist that gave me an 8 year dose which was only meant to be for 2 weeks!
You might find coming off the Effexor pretty hard when you are so low on the TSH. I found it incredibly difficult going cold turkey. ( Wyeth ceased making the tablets and I could not get anymore! They never bothered to let pharmacists know to tell the patient!) I could not take the XR as I have malabsorption syndrome and they would come out the other end whole!
Yes, I am in Australia, best country in the world..Ok I am biased! Where does your friend live? I am in Melbourne,Victoria. Have you been here?
I do hope it goes well at the doctors for you.

Go to this site and read more about the defination of the Tg testing you had.
I speculate that due to your breast cancer and chemo - your doctor wants to check out your antibodies for thyroid cancer to make sure nothing is wrong there.
I am not very good with Tg testing but many here can take a look give some thoughts.
As for your anti depressant. I read many reports about these effecting the thryroid and yes there is corralation of abnormal TSH with these drugs.
My T4 was normal so no I do not take thyroid replacements, that of course would
explain a low TSH, and I am asymptomatic except for some insomnia which seems
to be getting better lowering effexor and off of oral chemo 1.5 weeks ago. I just want
to be done with cancer and not have this to deal with now I am too young!
My prior TSH was in Sept 07 and perfectly normal, I started taking effexor
around Jan/Feb 08. I had breast cancer and the chemo puts you into
instant menopause. When this happens so suddenly the symptoms tend
to be much stronger, I was having debilitating hot flashes up to 100/day,
it was not prescribed for depression, I have TSH levels checked at least
yearly over the past 8 years and one time it was a tiny but high around 7
but next month was fine, never had a low TSH like now 0.06. So I am weaning
myself off the effexor since it is not helping the hot flashes enough to warrant
other problems from the effexor.
I just want to know what the heck a high thyroglobulin (2x normal) means with low
TSH all other labs normal. I did get my Dr to order a thyroid ultra sound so I should
be getting that next week, which may cause more anxiety in the unknown, also
got the referral to an endocrinologist from my oncologist. I just need some answers,
which no one can give me, something that makes sense.
Are you from Australia? I have a good friend that lives there
Cheers
I took Effexor for over 8 years at a very high dosage. Verdict is still out as to if it caused the pre-cancer I had. I think it might have, but who knows!
Depression is a symptom of thyroid problems and many people have doctors who fail to understand that correct levels of thyroid can help prevent depression which then mean no anti-depressants.
Do you take any thyroid replacement medication? What was your TSH before starting the Effexor. It is important to keep it in perspective.
