Do you believe in Hell?

Anyone want to discuss some deep issues?
Discuss, not argue.
Do you believe in Hell? What do you think Hell is?
Is there a grading system when you die, that decides whether you go to Heaven or Hell? And what if you fall short by just 1 point, is there a re-do exam?
Do you get a second chance after you go to Hell?
If all young children that die, go to Heaven, then doesn't abortion assure these babies a place in Heaven? Where as, if they were allowed to grow, live and die, certainly some of them would go to Hell?

Satan was originally an angel. Who got the idea somehow that he was equal or better than god. He was cast out of heaven. Described as fair to look upon. Now there is a war and we are the prize. In the end battle, God and his followers and Satan and all his followers will battle it out. We already know who wins.

You did it again... that proverbial can of worms!!!!!.......Had to stop working to put my 2 cents in.......IMO.........

Everyone goes to heaven.
To be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord.
You could say you are in a holding place so to speak until the 2nd coming and God establishes his kingdom here on earth (Heaven).
The 2nd coming will not take place until the entire earth has been exposed to the word of God and had a chance to accept him as Lord and Savior….accept him and go to Heaven…..don’t and go to Hell.

God inspired men to write the Bible for him. Regardless of how much you read the Bible You will keep finding something new and, understanding things you did not the time before, this will happen no matter how long you read/study the Bible, many people have read/studied the Bible all of their lives and they still find new understanding each time they read it. This must be God’s design.

I think the Bible will answer any questions we are supposed to know the answers to IF it is read and studied but, things cannot be taken out of context or excluded from the subject that is being addressed. I also think this knowledge must be asked for in the form of prayer.

To me God was easily ticked off in the Old Testament (vindictive), he killed many people and had many killed because they did not obey his laws. After sending his son to die for our sins in the New Testament I think he lightened up (merciful).
Read some of the laws that were laid out in Leviticus….those would be tough to follow.

Better stop now..........startin' to preach!!

addict3,   LOL   The can of worms makes for good discussions.

If it was Gods "plan" to have Adam & Eve eat the apple, then there was no free will, right?????
If everything is according to Gods "plan", there is no free will.,  Right?????

Need answers to these questions:
Why didn't God write the Bible or Laws for humans to follow himself, and on something that would last throughout the ages?
Why doesn't the Bible account for the earth and it's inhabitants prior to Adam & Eve, (the dinosaurs etc.)?
Since there is no "absolute" proof that Jesus was the son of God, why isn't Judaism the "right" religion?
Wouldn't it have been a better idea to bring the son of God to us during these times so that he could have been documented properly (pictures, videos DNA etc)?
If we are all Gods children, and he wants us to come to him and follows his laws, why did he make it so hard?  Would you think the best way to raise your children in love, would be to hide from them and only leave questionable clues to your existence and how you want them to be raised?

Faith, Faith, Faith, and more Faith.

Keep in mind that in order to understand what the bible is saying you must have a relationship with god. It is a guide so to speak for the christain. The holy spirit will reveal what God wants you to know and when he wants you to know it. I am not talking about the Catholic, Baptist, Luther church etc. I am talking about, followers of Christ. Some things in the bible mean different things to different people at different times in their lives. Based on their circumstances at the time. The bible says, if you had the faith of a mustard seed (you know how tiny that is?) You could move mountains. To me, that is a reminder of our lack of ability to believe. We all have questions, each of us. I would direct your questions to God. He is the one to answer them not us. Let me ask you one or two.

How was a nuclear war predicted thousands of years before nuclear was invented?
How was it predicted that in the last days, our world would be the way it is today? The bible says in the last days it would not be safe for a man to leave his house, because of the fear of being sexually attacked by other men. It also says, that parents would rise up agains their own children, and children against their parents. That people would lie down with their own sex, animals, children etc. It talks about the weather and global changes that we see going on right now, only we call it global warming or earth cycles.

If there is no higher power, where did we and all creatures originate from? There had to be a first sometime or other right?

And finally. The bible says you must believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and you must believe in the Entity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.
And, is it enough that we believe in God? Well, Satan believes, he has first hand knowledge but look where it got him.  I believe you must try to live accordingly and also believe.  You can not have two masters. God is a jealous god!

I agree with Teko's explanation.  It comes down to faith.  If we could know these things with 100% certaintly then there would be no need to have faith.  Faith is the key to everything. If he could come here and prove his son died on the cross for all of us, then where does faith come in.  He wants us to believe because we feel his Spirit and accept completely with faith, not because of proof.  God loves us and wants us to be happy, but faith can sometimes only come through adversity.  I say that because it's following adversity that we can see the light sort of speak.  Just like when we were addicted - most of us had to hit rock bottom before coming out on the other side. If God was to just show us everything, there would have been no need to bring us here to this Earth to learn and grow.  The war in heaven was just that, Jesus agreed to do the father's will and allow people their free agency to choose.  Satan wanted to force us back home.   I hope that makes sense.

As for free will, just because God has a plan for his children does not mean we do not have free will.  When Adam and Eve partook of the apple they were free to do so.  God knew what they would do.  He knows us better than we know ourselves.  That's how he knows that his plan will not be thrwarted.  He knows us that well and loves us eternally.
