Having a tough day trying to taper!

Hi. I posted yesterday about trying to taper off norco 10s. Today is my second day of doing 5 tabs. I plan to just stop when I have a 4 free days which is 3 weeks from now. Just wondering of its worth the effort to taper until then. Will it make the detox easier if I am down to 2 or 3 a day?  Prob just looking for someone to give me an excuse to take more. Thanks

Never tapered here but, 4 days off will sure help the process and give u a great start. Be sure to cut off your sources when you get to that point. Good luck!

I TOTALLY AGREE with all the above post!!!
Taper made my withdrawals very minimal.
I was also taking Hydro (Norco) 10/325  6-8 daily
If you would like to read about my experience it's on my page in my journal.

You CAN do this if you can't have your pills near you then give them to someone to hand out to you.
Can't take something you don't have. Right?

The people on here are Wonderful!!
They are very supportive and they do Care and will be here for you.
They are the reason I am now 46 or so days clean off of Oxycontin and 11 or so days off Hydros 10/325 6-8 daily

I'm here to offer my support

Sorry if any typos on IPhone again truckin down the highway bouncing around.

Peace
Lesa

Hi DITTO from above...A good taper is the way to go..but also try not to have them in your hand..Give them to someone you can trust..If not the brain will play the "I feel good, just one more on & on " You know..I wish you luck and you can keep posting back. Step by Step we can support you in many ways...Great Job..

Hey!
I would tend to agree w/ Bubulous with the following caveat: you'll probably need someone to dole them out. We're not supposed to discuss tapers on the forum so I'm going to shut up now except to say plan ahead. Give yourself the proper time to do this in. I know you mentioned that you work and take care of the kids. So, you've got to think ahead. This planning and what you do in terms of aftercare are what will determine whether this works for you and I wish you every success in this and in all your endeavors.

I never had any success with tapering but I will say this:

The desire to use is going to be almost irresistible after you finally stop.  If you start doing a taper now it may give you an edge because it will show you that you have self control.  People underestimate the power of thoughts and the power of positivve thinking.
So for my advice...I would say start the taper now.
