im stopping the methadone tomorrow 01/06/15, im only on 5ml aday at the moment, but its time to get off the stuff, reduced from 80ml a day over 6months, but im scared what to expect, any good advice out there, will be welcomed 100%, will update daily on my progress...Andy

hey please dig deep down inside. you have been on substances for a long time. it is going to take time for your mind, body, soul and spirit to heal.

if you are still drinking, smoking weed, taking valium , zormorph and
morphine you are not healing nor are you in recovery.

I am so sorry to sound so harsh. have you gone to see a counselor,
been to substance abuse meetings, talked to a pastor, gone to church,
eat a healthy diet, exercise?? all of these will help you in your recovery and on the way to a clean life.

you have to learn to live a new way, life on lifes terms without the use of
any mind altering substances.

I pray and hope the best for you. please post more often so you can get some support and advice.

well im off the methadone script,  been off it a week now, and im still finding it hard, cant seem to sleep much, but im clean and staying that way, looking back now I can see how much I wasted of my life with the heroin, cant see me going back to it again, but never say never, ive gotta **** load to lose if I gets back on the gear again, my miss's of 21yrs has said enough is enough, its me and the 3kids or ya heroin, I took her and the kids, and im gonna make it all the way, me and the heroin have parted company now, just hope it lasts.......

another shakey day for me, but managed to say no to the gear and so im clean, like ive said I do like my spliffs, that's what helps me chill, at the moment im half way down a bottle of home made wine, and its good stuff, helps take the edge of everything, must also say im using vallium as well, only 30ml a day, and at nite I takes 2 20ml temazepam, they helps me sleep, been on both medicals over 18yrs now, but before the end of summer im gonna be clean, show all the wasters and people who slag me down for being a smack head, I can get clean and do it my own way, not like what the dr's say, im prescribed zormorph with it a morphine pain killer, and I take 2capsules each morning, that's 120ml, and the same at nite I take another 2 capsules, then comes the oramorph, that's for fast acting pain relief, I will keep postings to let ya all know who lifes treating me

been a well stressful week for me, im gonna bull ya with crap, but ive had 2 lapses this week and man do I feel guilty or what, my miss's of 21yrs  pointed out that either I stay  clear as ive promised her, either u stop the gear and other drugs or ya out for good, and ive got 3 lovely kids at home, and the 2 girls are aged 16 and 13, and me lil lad is just 6, I wanna be a normal dad to my kids, well after my 2 day blip, I said no more, its not for me anymore, and im off methadone, all I do is smoke a spliff which helps me relax and chill,

thanks for ya comment, im 47 now, been on the gear over 17yrs, been clean off it about 2months, but man its a struggle, the streets are awash with drugs these days, just gotta be tough and stay away from the so called m8's

Hi Andy  well congrats for getting it down to 5mg  I came off 150 and dont look back  as for the detox it is different for everybody  a lot has to do with how long you where on it and your age  I was on it 7yrs and at 150 most of that time and was 47 when I detoxed so the cards where stacked ageist me  the big things with this drug detox are the ''energy crash'' and the lack of sleep early on it takes about 2 weeks to get over the phyical part then the mental part can take a wile  in a perfect world your better in a month  for me it was around 90 days b/4 I seen the light  most people are some where inbetween  just hang in there we are all here for you  keep posting for support  you to will be free from the liquid handcuffs.....Gnarly
